An independent civic project — not an official government website How to tell

No seal, no .gov.ph address. Official municipal websites use a government domain and the municipal seal. This site uses neither, by design.

Every figure is sourced. Each number links to the government document it came from. Where they differ, the original document is authoritative.

Per PSA, total population is household population plus institutional population. A barangay can therefore report people but no households: Baha reports 83 persons, 0 household population and 0 households, exactly as PSA publishes them. PSA does not say which institutional quarters those persons were enumerated in, and this project does not speculate.

Retrieved from PSA's own statistical database (OpenSTAT) for the 2024 Census of Population. The 25 barangay counts reconcile exactly to PSA's municipal total for both population and households; the pipeline refuses to write the dataset otherwise. PSA's definitions of each measure are captured from the same table and published alongside the figures.

Source Department of Public Works and Highways +1 Reported 30 September 2026, not yet confirmed Caveat: These are DPWH’s own published figures, read through BetterGov.ph’s mirror of them; they are contract budgets, not audited spending, and progress is as DPWH last reported it. A project is placed in Calatagan only when DPWH’s description says so; a few described vaguely may be missed. : show method and sources for these projects

These are national government projects implemented by DPWH (mostly its Batangas 1st District Engineering Office), not projects of the municipal government.

Every DPWH contract whose record mentions Calatagan was read, then kept only if its own description places the work in Calatagan, Batangas ("…, CALATAGAN, BATANGAS"). Contracts on the Nasugbu–Lian–Calatagan national road that give kilometre posts but no municipality, and packages that bundle Calatagan with another municipality, are listed separately and not counted. Barangays are read from the description. The rule is tested against real descriptions (scripts/lib/dpwh-location.test.ts).
