Per PSA, total population is household population plus institutional population. A barangay can therefore report people but no households: Baha reports 83 persons, 0 household population and 0 households, exactly as PSA publishes them. PSA does not say which institutional quarters those persons were enumerated in, and this project does not speculate.

Retrieved from PSA's own statistical database (OpenSTAT) for the 2024 Census of Population. The 25 barangay counts reconcile exactly to PSA's municipal total for both population and households; the pipeline refuses to write the dataset otherwise. PSA's definitions of each measure are captured from the same table and published alongside the figures.

Poverty in Batangas province

PSA’s latest poverty statistics go down to the province, not the town. For the whole of Batangas, the share of people living below the poverty line was 7.6% in 2023, against a poverty threshold of ₱35,380 a year per person. Calatagan’s own figure is not published here (see why).

Poverty incidence among the population, Batangas and Region IV-A (PSA, full-year estimates)
Year Batangas 95% interval Region IV-A Threshold, Batangas
2023 7.6% 5–10% 7.9% ₱35,380
2021 6.3% 4–9% 10.2% ₱30,828
2018 11.4% 9–14% 7.1% ₱33,068

Provincial estimates come from a household survey, so each has a margin of error: PSA’s 95% interval is shown beside it, and differences between years that fall inside those intervals may not be real changes. Among families, PSA puts Batangas at 4.9% in 2023.

These are figures for the whole province of Batangas, not for Calatagan. PSA estimates municipal poverty separately (small-area estimates) and publishes those only on its website, which this project cannot currently read; Calatagan’s own figure is therefore not published here.

Read from PSA OpenSTAT’s full-year poverty tables for the province of Batangas and for Region IV-A, with the poverty threshold, the incidence and PSA’s measures of precision exactly as PSA publishes them.

Quarterly SRE figures are cumulative within a calendar year, so a Q3 value already includes Q1 and Q2.

Each filing was downloaded from the DILG portal and parsed directly. Line items are located by their label in column A or B, never by row number, and every value records the cell it came from. A filing is marked verified only when all of the form’s own internal identities hold and every expected label was found. Across 14 quarters, 838 internal identity checks were recomputed and all passed.

The CMCI measures what LGUs and agencies report to DTI against DTI’s indicators; a rank compares Calatagan with other municipalities of its class, and pillars were added over time (Resiliency from 2017, Innovation from 2022), so overall scores from different years are not strictly comparable. DTI’s 2018 table prints no scores, only ranks.

Read from DTI’s CMCI ranking table for each year, in the category Calatagan was ranked in (1st to 2nd class municipalities throughout). The overall rank and score, each pillar’s rank and score, and the number of LGUs ranked are recorded exactly as DTI’s table prints them. The indicator breakdown comes from DTI’s LGU profile page for Calatagan and is placed in the year whose pillar ranks and scores it reproduces exactly; a stray row DTI’s page repeats under every pillar is dropped.
